What is a criminal trial?

The right to a jury trial comes from the Sixth Amendment to the United States Constitution which says that if the government is charging someone with a crime, then that person has the right to demand a speedy and public trial, in front of a jury of peers,
in the district the alleged crime was committed.

The resources on this page cover the different aspects of a criminal trial.
