AmeriCorps Promise Fellow
Calita graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelors degree in Sociology of Law, Criminology and Deviance, as well as a minor in Youth Studies. She is currently serving her second year as an AmeriCorps Promise Fellow; last year she served at Keewaydin, a Minneapolis Public School, working with middle grades students in a dropout prevention program called Check and Connect. Previously, she worked with 4-H to create a summer STEM program for youth. Calita is passionate about making sure that youth have access to a good education, and her future plans include continuing to better our communities and provide resources to young people so that they can be successful.
